Not exactly—but close. When Bose discontinued the Sleepbuds II in 2022, several engineers who designed them left and acquired the patents. They founded Ozlo to continue developing sleep-focused audio. So while Ozlo isn't Bose, it's made by the same people with the same technology and design philosophy. Think of it as the Sleepbuds III that Bose never made.

Biometric sensors in the earbuds detect changes in your movement and breathing patterns that indicate you've fallen asleep. When detected, the earbuds automatically fade from whatever you're streaming (podcast, music, etc.) to pre-loaded noise-masking sounds. You fall asleep to your content but stay asleep with white noise. The feature is in beta and accuracy varies, but when it works, it's genuinely useful.

Ozlo uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for the earbuds to maximize battery life and minimize size. BLE requires a bridge device—that's the case. Your phone connects to the case via standard Bluetooth, and the case streams to the earbuds via BLE. It's a technical necessity for the tiny form factor, but it does mean the case needs to stay within range (about 10 feet) while you sleep.

Honestly, it depends on your priorities. If comfort is everything and you've struggled with other sleep earbuds, Ozlo's exceptional fit might be worth the premium.
